Swelling of the lips

I have sensitive skin and whenever my boyfriend kisses me (nibbles, suck on) my lips, the top lip will become swollen.
What kind of treatment can you recommend other than over the counter medication.
I've used prednisolone 5mg and aerius 5mg but I think the steroids were taking a toll on my eating habits, so I prefer to try something else.
