Hi, I think that every person should lead as healthier life as possible. That is why I am a great supporter of all kinds of workouts. Personally, I prefer swimming. But, my girlfriend enjoys running. I have tried to convince her to switch to swimming. She says that swimming and running are the basically the same. Can you explain this to me?
Hi, I have to say that your girlfriend is not right. Swimming and running may seem similar, but these two activities are very different. First of all, the resistance the air gives when your girlfriend runs is not the same as the resistance you have to conquer while you are swimming. I am not saying that swimming is more demanding than running, you just have to use different techniques for each activity. Secondly, while you are swimming you are mostly developing your arms and upper body muscles. Running is more concentrated on the development of leg muscles. You and your girlfriend should try each other's activities. Once you have tried them you will understand what I am talking about and apprehend these differences.
