Symptoms gone, throat glands still swollen!

Hi,
I've had strep throat for the past month and have been on two rounds of 10 day antibiotics. The first round was penicillin and about two days after I finished my pills, my sore throat started up again, so I was put on amoxicillin.
The amoxicillin has been finished now for about three days and I can comfortably say I'm feeling fine so far, except that my right throat gland is still swollen and there is still a little redness around my throat. Does the disease just need to calm down on it's own? Has anyone else had similar experiences? I would prefer not to be put on another bout of these pills because they aren't that good for you. Any help would be appreciated Smile
