Hi! Most common symptom of Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome is the presence of vague dizziness accompanied by a lot of other unrelated symptoms. Those symptoms might include any of the following: shortness of breath for no apparent reason, frequent sighing or yawning, chest pains, heart palpitations, sweating, fainting, dizziness, tachycardia (rapid pulse), depression, trembling and many others. If several of these symptoms sound familiar, ask your doctor about Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome. It seems to me that you have some symptoms. You should check do you have Chronic Hyperventilation Syndrome.

| Hello, I have chronic hyperventilation syndrome and I would love to talk to others that have it as well. I was diagnosed after 3years of not knowing what was wrong, I was sent to doctor after doctor after doctor and no one could figure it out. Finally a neurologist decided to take my blood gasses and concluded I had this horrible syndrome. I just found out that I am pregnant with my second child and am extremely nervous about the pregnancy. Because of this disorder, my last pregnancy was so horrible with dizziness and I could barely move. If there is anyone out there that has this condition please send me a message. I just want some people to talk to that know what it is like and maybe share ideas of what has helped each other. |

magicfox: i'm so very happy to find u. I don't know if I have the chronic hyperventilation syndrome or not but I indeed have many hour a day when I hyperventilate. I have panic disorder aswell.
I'm 23rd week pregnant now and all my symptoms have increased so bad. I'm also terrified cause I'm so scared the the ventilation'll do harm to my baby.
I sometimes cope with my breathing but sometime there are periods when I hyperventilate so badly that I get terrible headaches, dizzines and a huge amount of gas in my belly. It's so frustrating, cause I can't help my self at all.
I even called to doctor about this and they said that there can be a lack of oxygen with the fetus. ?!? But they also told that if u smoked one cigaret the fetus'd suffer from lack of oxygen for half an hour. And smokers get healthy babies too.. So I don't know...
Hope u get my answer soon and please contact me!!
Sorry about my English... I'm from Finland. |

| Hi All, I have this too, I was diagnosed about 5 years ago with GAD, when various symptoms including HSV started happening. I went through extensive medical checking and they found nothing wrong and put me on antydepressants. Even though I was reluctant to take them, they really helped, but about one year ago I got pregnant and with the advise of the doctor I stoped the medications. Unfortunately I lost the prgnancy in the 14th week. and now I am back where I started. this time is worse than ever, it happens all the time, cant take deep breath, tingling and constatly worrry that I will suffocate. I realize that this threat is unreal but for me as I sure for all of you that have this disorder it seems as real as anything. |

|
|
| Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the article thus far. I enjoyed reading all the articles and though I found many similarities with my condition the biggest discrepancy is the fact that it started very recently. It came on very suddenly about 10 days ago. I have never experienced these symptoms in the past or anything similiar. I am young, 23, have a moderately healthy vegetarian diet and get enough exercise. Granted I have been working so much that I have been slightly neglecting my health in the process, but nothing to warrant what I have been experiencing. I have been having difficulty breating almost constantly! At the computer, walking down the hall, even right now laying in bed typing on my laptop. I feel like I'm struggling to get oxygen out of the air - like my body is rejecting it for some unknown reason? The headaches and lack of focus are also sidenotes of this recent transition. If anyone has experience with something I would love to hear your story. Thanks and good luck. |

For the past few years i've had all the symptoms of chronic hyperventilation disorder. (Trouble breathing, frequent yawning to get a breath, chest pains, belching, chest tightness, fatigue, weird dreams) I got a chest xray and went to an allergist. I had allergies and the chest x ray was negative. The asthma medicine didn't do anything so, I'm pretty sure i have chronic hyperventilation syndrome.
For me the best thing that helps is it running. Perhaps, it helps me get deeper breaths. Sometimes when im lying down before i go to bed I'll get attacks where i think im going to stop breathing and have trouble breathing. My heart races. I force my self to do something else like push ups or something and that helps me a little.
What i wonder though, is if this is mental, and I'm fine, how come i tell myself that but i still have trouble breathing. This has been plaguing me for 2 years now. And the weirdest thing is my sister told me she has been having some of the same problems and I didn't realize that she did for a year after i had my first symptoms.
Keeping myself busy, running, maintaining good posture, eating healthy, and trying not to think about it seems to help me. I dunno. |
