Hi, what are symptoms of metastasis and how can they be noticed? My mother has breast cancer, and I am worried about possibility of developing bone metastasis.

Hi, I believe you are worried about more complications that can develop from cancer. Cancer cells that have metastasized to the bone lead to impairment in bone function such as bone pain, fractures, spinal cord compression and high level of calcium in the blood. Generally, pain is the most common symptom of bone metastasis. Patients are usually complaining about worsening of symptoms during night or in bed rest. Not every kind of pain is metastasis pain, specially if your mother already has rheum or arthritis.
