THE TIPS OF MY BIG TOES ARE PEELING AND LOOK VERY NASTY .. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THIS..

Last year I tried using a cream called terbinafine Hydrochloride cream (Lamisil) 1% on my cracked heels and a big toe that had skin peeling. You don't need a prescription. I put it on 2 to 4 times a day, kept my feet clean and dry. It cleared right up. However, I have to use it every couple of months.

Recently, my thumb skin started peeling and I finally thought to try the Lamisil on it too. It cleared right up too.

Some people seem to have more of certain naturally occurring bacteria and fungi on their bodies (lucky us).

I also get little light spots on my body in the summer sometimes. It's a fungus called tinea vericolor. It likes warm moist skin. I use S.A.S. soap to get rid of it. That's Salisylic acid and Sulfur soap. I had to ask the pharmacist to order it for me. It's not prescription. I wet the soap and apply it directly to my affected body areas and leave it on all day. I bathe with regular soap in the evening and reapply the S.A.S soap. I leave it on all night, wipe it off in morning and reapply. I do that for a whole month. If it comes back, your doctor can order a prescription medicine in a pill form that you take. I usually get rid of it with the special soap but had to get the pills before too.
Once it's gone, it helps to keep it away by using Selsun blue shampoo on your skin when you shower or bathe. Rub it all over and leave on while you shave your legs or whatever. Then rinse it off.
DO NOT USE A TANNING BED WITH THE S.A.S. ON. I accidentally tanned with it on and got 2nd degree burns.
