My mother has just been diagnosed with the early form of multiple sclerosis. She is 65 years old and a very dynamic woman, so this has to be very hard for her. Doctors already prescribed her with the therapy and she should be taking Imuran and Betaferon for her condition. Will those drugs help?
I know that patients who have started taking Betaferon (after the MS episode), have forty percent lower chance of developing confirmed disability. But this goes only if they have started with the therapy shortly after the attack. As for Imuran, it is used for dealing with the inflammation processes in our body.
