My mother is 56 years old and has been diagnosed with a breast cancer. And it seems that not only she has the tumor, but her estrogen levels are very high. So, she will have to take the strong meds for tumor and also some anti estrogen medications too. I have heard that Tamoxifen, one of such meds could cause serious side effects. Is taking that med a medical mistake?

Well, the cancer itself is a very severe condition and you should know that high estrogen level might speed up its development. So, even though the medication therapy might have its bad sides, it is necessary to be applied in order to eliminate the cancer cells completely. I admit though that I have also heard some not so positive stories about Tamoxifen.
