I have the same problem with the red itchy bumps on my heels of my feet and on top of my feet, ive done some researching and i think they are heat bumps from the heat and tanning just coming out of winter, ur body is not used to the climate change yet, so it helps if you use a fan and keep the area where the bumps are open let them breath, I dont know how to get rid of mine, but from now on when i tan im going to wear socks, dont know if that will help if it does that means it was the cleaning product i was allergic to.
hope this helps |

I am also having the same problem. I have been tanning for 8 or 9 years and have never had problems using lotions. About 2 years ago I was at a salon and began to try the Tingle Lotions that are available, within weeks, I had the itchy rash all over my inner thighs, outer thighs, stomach, and chest. It itched like crazy and is extremely uncomfortable. I stopped tanning and eventually it went away. Last year I was at a completely different salon, wasn't using lotion, and I didn't have any problem. However, as soon as I begin to use lotion it seems the rash appeared again. I went to the doctor and he said to just stop tanning. I did for about 6 or so months. I have just recently began to go again at another different salon and wasn't using lotion and again no problem. This week I decided to purchase a lotion and guess what's back... the rash again.
The one thing I did notice that about all 3 times is:
1. I was using an indoor tanning lotion, first two times it was tingle, third time it wasn't.
2. All 3 times it has happened, the bed had been used all day long by multiple people because it was peak season and I sweated like crazy in the bed which i doesn't usually happen.
My theory is that it is either from not sanitizing the beds properly or there is something in the lotion that is causing the rash. The lady at the salon told me there are 3 other women that go there that have the same problem and she alcohol wipes the beds down for them before they go in to get rid of the cleaner and they haven't had any problem since.
I usually always go tanning in the spring to get ready for summer, I just hope I can get down to the root of the problem. |

| I have had these little red rashes for the last year. I just started tanning again and it is BACK!!! I am on a new birth control pill and I think that might be it. I never had this problem until I changed my pill. |

| i woke up this morning and had five spots on my left forearm, all below my elbow. about an hour later by the time i got to the doctor i had a sixth coming up. one is the the size of a nickel, the others are pretty small, about a centimeter long. they're raised blister-like things that were extremely red around the outside of them. they itch REALLY bad but they burn and sting when i touch them. i went to the doctor, they had no idea what they were. they gave me a steroid shot and some prescription allergy medication and some of the redness has gone down, but other than that they're still there. i am so confused. does this sound like what yall have been having? it looks like ringworm surrounding blisters, but the doctor said it isn't ringworm. it's just very very strange. |

| about three years ago i fell asleep in the sun at disneyland, and broke out in this horrible sun rash because i had been on an antibiotic, cipro. i never had the problem again until recently when i started tanning for prom. last year i tanned for prom for about a month and everything was fine. this year, however, i didn't even make it a full two weeks and i was getting this terrible burning rash all over my chest, one patch on each of my shoulder blades, and a little patch on my buttcheek. it goes away after about 10 hours but it's still extremely painful. they're slight red bumps, and extremely irritating and burning. i don't know what it is, i've never had a problem like this other than when i was on a certain medication. |

I just got a rash, itchy and blotchy now showing up for the third morning after my last lay down tanning session. The rash only is happening in the a.m. hours?! It is on just the back of my legs which coincidenlty felt the hottest during the session.
I am going to my dermatoligist in at 1:00 p.m and will report back.
I regret using the tanning bed and hope this is not something I really end up paying for. |

| I've had this type of problem for a couple years now. Mine start out as a few very small raised spots on my arms and hands. A couple have been on my lower legs. They start to grow and eventually appear like ringworm. I went to a dermatologist who told me it was a chemical reaction (rash) to the sun and stop tanning. There is no cure but to put on sun block. I've found that if I spend to much time outside in the sun they will reappear. Now I'm tring to slowly tan every few days for shorter periods and hopefully can abtain my tan. |

I've been dealing with this problem a few years now. My rash starts out as an itchy small raised bumps on my arms, hands and sometimes legs. It progresses into a small round ringworm type rash that continues to grow to about the size of a half dollar. This also happens when tanning outside in the sun. I've been to a Dermatologist who told me it is an allergic reaction to the sun (sun poisioning). There is no cure and not much that can be done other then staying out of the sun and tanning beds. The symptoms go away after a few weeks but will reappear if I get to much sun. I enjoy going to the tanning salon, but I keep my tan time down to a minimum and use a combination bronzer with a sun screen SPF 6. When the spots appear I rub some Clearasil on the affected area to help dry it up and place a bandaid over the top. Try to use one that covers and seals the whole area. Change the bandaid and Clearasil daily after showering. The spots will dry up to a darker scaly appearance and heal faster. I continue to tan even with the bandaids on my arms, they protect the spots from the tanning rays. If anyone has found a better way to solve this problem let me know.
Thanks |
