Because of my mother's history of CA ovaries and breast I alternate between ultrasound one year and the blood test CA125 q 2nd year. This year the ultrasound for them were negative however my doctor told me that my endometrium was 22mm in thickness and felt the need for a biopsy.
Up until Dec. 2006 I had been taking Ogen and Prometrium (sm. doses) for abt. 10 years. I d/c in Dec. and suffer the nightsweats and hot flushes prob. abt. 20/day.
The biopsy is scheduled Aug. 9. My question how many biopsies are taken and if even several taken how will I know abt. the rest of my uterus.
I have no way of knowing how long my uterus has been this thick.
Should I insist on a D&C? Will I have piece of mind with just a D&C or should I really have a hysterectomy? I am 63 yr old and in good health with no symptoms ie spotting, bleeding and this has thrown me for a loop.
What is your recommendations?
Thank you.
