Tested Positive for Chlamydia-Who gave it to me?

Hi I recently had an abortion done and my tests came back positive for chlamydia. Im not sure if i got it from my present bf or my past bf. I havent been with my past bf after we broke up for about 1.5 years and in that time i was not sexually active but i never took a test. i became active again after 1.5 yr and four months later i'm at this point!! Im being treated and i told my current bf. What i want to know is could i have gotten it from my ex and if so is it possible for the bacteria not to affect my reproductive system for such a long time or would it have started to affect me if i had it for over 1 year??? if it would have started to affect me then i know i did not get it from my ex but from my current bf...I need to figure this out! And also can i get a cyst from chlamydia...the doctor said it was because i was pregnant and it usually goes away!
