Hi, it is certainly very strange to hear that you got tetracycline for throat and tonsil infection. Tetracycline belongs to class of medications called tetracycline antibiotics. It is used for variety of infections like respiratory tract infections; acne; infections of skin, genital and urinary systems. It is should be taken two to four times daily. it is preferable to have it on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals or snacks, because food interacts with drug and less drug is absorbed. Dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cheese, and ice cream contain calcim wcich binds with tetracyclin and they are no longer useful.
