Hi, folks. My husband had stroke several years ago. After that, he suffered for a year and I remember what devastating impact stroke had on my husband's life. He passed away, but I still remember how difficult that was for him, but for his family as well. I guess there are many people like my husband was.

Hello. Stroke is a life changing experience. My husband had a stroke also. It was on his left side. I have read somewhere that left sided lesions are associated with minor deteriorations than the right sided ones. Speech pathology is more associated with left sided lesion. My husband recovered a little, but he isn't the same as he used to be. I totally understand what you've been through. If you want to talk, don't hesitate to contact me. Best of luck!

Hi, I know the effects of a massive stroke on a survivor and the family because I had two on the same day. I had mine at age 46 and my father had his at 47, it runs in the family. I learned allot from my dads stroke and I applied it to mine. With work and a good attitude my left side is now working again, my speech is back and I can read again. I share my thoughts on my blog so if you're interested follow this link www.strokespeaker.blotspot.com
I've recorded many in an audio format so survivors who can't read yet still can listen. I hope it's helpful.
Jim
