I'm a resident of MI. I slipped on the ice the first Friday in March 2006. I've been dealing with pain ever since. I was referred to a DO and have been through therapy, a Bone Scan, Countless Xrays, 2 MRI's and 1 cortisone epidural in my lower back. The epidural worked for less than a week, and while it was working it made my upper back so sore I could hardly move. So, now I'm dealling with pain in my upper back, lower back, hips, legs ( pain &/or numness ). I hope someone out there can suggest a new step I should take. I have put my life on hold. It's effecting my job. I'm an outside sales rep and required to travel. That has come to a complete stop. My employer has been very patient and understanding, but I can't expect them to continue this forever.
I hope some on reads this and knows exactly my situation. I want to quit taking all these pain killers ( 8 to 10/a day ) and muscle relaxers ( 2 or 3/a day ). PLEASE HELP AND RESPOND SOON.

I am so sorry to hear this Amy. I know of someone who is going through it now and don't know what else he can do as well. He hurt himself in the thorasic area and has herniation there and four compressed vertebraes but the vertebraes healed compressing some of his nerves. He injured himself a year and some months ago and it is getting worse. he walks much less and does even less. He is has gone through the series of epidurals and still on the drugs you mentioned. How are you doing now?

This back pain stuff sucks, just like you i've done all the injections they recommend and all the trigger point thearpy they (DR's) recommend and nothing seems to help. I'm 21 year old ex football player and hurt my back and slipped a disk. I have possibly the worst back sprain known to man and it's hard dealing with it at my age. I dunno what to do but im going to keep pestering my family physician until he sends me to a surgeon so they can clean me out. It's beginning to ruin my life and it's not fun.
