My period usually last 7 days. But last month, I noticed something weird. I started having brownish discharge, which, I thought was normal because it's usually a sign that my period is almost ending. But then, my discharge lasted more than 7 days. Which made my entire menstrual period almost for 2 weeks.
For this month, it got worst. First my normal 7 days, then again my brownish discharge for about 5 days. But this time, my discharge did not stop. It went from brown all the way back to red. So my period started all over again. From mere change of color, to medium flow to heavy flow. The process got reversed. I am on the 3rd week now and its still hasn't stopped.
As with me, I am not sexually active, I am not on pills or medication. Never been sick all my life. Never hospitalized. However, it might be connected with the family's history of diseases.(both father and mother side of the family)
My grandfather had prostate cancer. One of my aunts got ovarian cysts. Another had ovarian cancer and died of post-surgery complications. My mom and two of my sisters had breast cyst removed (except for me). My cousin had one too. (all are from my father side of the family).
My grandmother (mother side) had cancer too (in her thyroid, it think.) and died from it.
Clearly, cancer runs in our blood. Did I mention pneumonia? All of us to have it. I also have a mild case of anemia, which I seem to never have a problem with.
I didn't want to go to the doctor because I am afraid of what my condition might be. Also, I don't have the finances to have myself consulted and have run some test.
I just need you initial opinion for now on what you think it means. I could just be overreacting since it never happened before. I read some of the other forums but their conditions seems to have come from their sexual activities or the pills or medication they have/had.
I would really appreciate if you could give me an advice of what I need to do, besides going to the hospital or a doctor. I am terrified by just thinking about it.
