Posted: 01/17/07 - 02:27 Post subject: Throat pains that move to different locations - and tender w |
|
|
I started getting pains in the throat about six weeks ago. The pains started at the very bottom-front of the throat (near the space between the collar bones) but moves to other parts of the throat - sometimes at the left side of the thyroid, then at the bottom-left of throat (both of which when pressed w/ my finger causes pain).
I occassionally get a little hoarse but it clears. There's a little pain when I swallow, but usually if I turn my head to the left while swallowing there's no pain.
I have no other symptoms - normal temp, very little coughing/sneezing.
I can't feel any lumps.
I've searched the web for similar instances of this condition but haven't found anything this bizarre (wrt the fact that the pain moves to different areas of the throat). |

Hi, how are both of you doing? My pains subsided ~~ two weeks after posting the initial info. Then about two weeks ago I went to a holistic M.D. (mainly concerning high TSH levels) who did a digital exam (pressing and probing with his fingers) on my thyroid.
Well, the pains returned the next day
I've since had an expanded Thyroid blood panel, and just two days ago an ultrasound. Waiting for both results.
I hope you both are still on this forum. I'll try to check back more often, and will post the results when I get them.
Cheers - GA |

I'm having the same problem too. Pain is at the bottom of my throat right now and it hurts to the touch as well as hurts when I swallow. It started at the top of my throat, left side, then moved to the right side and now at the bottom.
What were the results of your tests? Did you find out what was causing this? |

| You all described my symptoms to a tee. The bottom of the throat thing is happening to me right now. Yesterday, I thought I strained my neck or something and now it so sore that it hurts to the touch with my finger on the outside of my throat. Did anyone find out anything yet? |
