Thyroid Goiter or Not?

I have been having this numblike out of my body sensation of a whole month and still am and i don't know what is causing it.. I have been on amphetamine salts 10mg and tylenol pm for a month and i taperd off and the doctor said the amphetamines should be out of my system for a while but my body isn't functioning right..... When i went to the doctor he found bump inside my neck which he thought it was a goiter but i don't know that much about goiters and thyroids... I am 18 years old.. do i have to worry about thyroid problems? Can goiters cause me to feel this numbness out of body like feeling that is making me painic alot.... ???
