Tingling tongue symptoms

What is going on with me? I am scared to death that tommorow I wil wake up and have a numb face or body part or worse not be able to get out of bed..or what if I suffer a stroke? I went to the ER all is fine they said I could be having convulsions and it may be stress related?
I am 33 energetic and a woman....a physically fit woman.
? What gives...I do not have insurance and hate to spend everything I have to go get 100+ tests...I will wait and hopefully God will cleanse me and return me back to my old self...I am really growing tird of NOT knowing what is wrong and feeling so tired all the time. I feel like I have aged in the last 2 weeks, I am always tired and need a nap during the day. I stay focused and work out but it is not as easy as before and the numbness feels like it is spreading.

This appears to be a bit more common than I thought. I have numbness in the right side of my tongue, which seems to be worse along the right edge of the tongue. I also have an odd taste in my mouth more so on the side that has the numbness, and it tastes almost like metal. It is quite annoying and frustrating to say the least. I am a 31 year old male, and I guess MS isnt out of the question. I had full brain MRI and several blood tests. Apparently they are looking for Lyme disease, thyroid issues, B12 deficency, and some other stuff I cant pronounce. I havent heard back on any of these tests yet. By the way, I have had this symptom non-stop for 4 months now with no change what so ever. Odd that it doesnt get worse, and I guess even more odd that it doesnt ever go away. I took a ton of antibiotics in the past year and a half for severe throat problems, resulting in the removal of my tonsils ultimately, but the numbness of the tongue was happening before my tonsils were removed. Anyway, I'll post another message when I hear back regarding the testing. Honestly at this point, I just want to know what it is because even though I'm a bit frightened by what it could be, I'm 10 times more angered by the symptom. Its so annoying! Confused

[I am a male in my late 50ts and a non smoker non drinker, I am still feeling the effects of a bad cold of over two weeks, today is the end of two weeks cold fevor. ontop of this I am so stress out looking for work, and having to deal with a toxic relationship. on top of what I mentioned dose anyone know what causes your tongue on left side in the back go numb. I have been taking a cough medican however two tsp every six hours... plus one pill a day for this cold...for five days...

I am worried if it would be signs of stress or stroke?????

Has anyone looked into the correlation of bacteria in the stomach - Helicobacter Pylori Infection, About 2/3 of the world population is estimated to be infected by the bacterium - and tingling mouth symptoms?

About 2/3 of the world population is estimated to be infected by the bacterium and tingling tongue? Seem like when more acidic food are consumed, there is bloating, acid issues AND tingling tongue.

I too have the same symptoms of numbing lips and tip of my tongue. I have had MRI, CAT Scans, blood work, have seen Heart and Neurologist specialists. They cannot seem to find reason for these symptoms. I have been experiencing them for approx 1 year. I have changed my diet and started excercising regularly. Thanks for the tips about toothpaste and fruit I will try these as well.

If I find something that changes my symptoms I will pass it along

Hi there,
I been feeling my lower right lip to be numb and the tip of my tongue on the right side as well. I started thinking maybe something bit me at night or some sort of food allergy. I went to a clinic and the doctor said it sounded as if I had a twisted nerve. She said I might have lifted something heavy (which i do remember doing) and that I should just give it some days or a week.
It hasnt been a week yet but the numbing sensation is still there. It was progressing and now its come to a stop but its still there. I hope its nothing bad. Let's stay positive Smile

But do get checked with a doctor just in case, its always good to get someones opinion on what your feeling.

I too have this problem along with Gastreo problems. Have just started Zoloft approx 3 wks ago......This can all be related to anxiety disorders. Check with your doctor. I just spoke with my Dr today and they are having me discontinue the zoloft after weining off of it the last five days. Anxiety disorders and stress cause an awful lot of things. This is also common in children of all ages.............Anxiety disorders are among one of the top medical conditions effecting individuals on a daily basis. Hang in there and know you are not alone.

I would suggest that people suffering from this and other symptoms to please check out the ILADS website and find yourself a Lyme literate doctor. Lyme disease has been found to be extremely common and horrifyingly misdiagnosed. Lyme literate doctors are few and far between, but when it comes to your health, worth the effort.

Hi, just visiting. I started experiencing the numb tongue and lips symptoms a few days ago. Today I went to the doctor and he told me I had Bell's Palsy. It develops from a virus, most commonly herpes. In my case I had an ear infection that he believes is the cause.

It gets the worst 3 weeks in, but should start to subside after that.

It's a pinched nerve in your face, which is why you can't use the muscles. He prescribed prednisone for the inflammation, once daily for a week. He also has me on 1000mg of Valtrex for anti-viral.

8 - 10% of people have a recurrence, but generally most people recover with no further complications.
