Hi. I too have mono. I take acetaminophen to treat my problem (650mg). I have a few tips for treating mono. Here is what I do… I drink a lot of fluids to prevent dehydration. I rest a lot. Fatigue is not a significant symptom in my case, but I still rest for as long as I can. I should avoid alcohol, because mono virus impairs the functioning of your liver. However, I drink a beer from time to time. If your spleen is inflamed, or enlarged, don`t engage in physical activities that could result in increased pressure to your chest or stomach.
i had mono last July for a month. It was the sickest I ever was. I am 39 male and the only thing that helped was Advil, and lots of rest. It will go away on its own and hopefully a lot quicker than it did for me.
