my three year old granddaughter is being given an estrogen cream treatment 4 times daily for the labia growing over too much. THIS scares me, and they were told about possible "budding" breasts to go along with it. Is this the sane healthy way for this tyke? Wouldn not an operation have healthier results? Thank you. Suzanne

With being given any human hormones, male or female, side effects with be noticed, but with all of these the side effects will "go away" after the treatment is stopped, like giving a teenage girl birth control, they grow breasts and hair and the other effects, but they soon return to normal or to proper age group, and no one knows any differant.
If the doctor though it was a bad idea, they wound not prescipt this treatement. do what is needed by the Dr. orders and watch, note and talk to them if you see something that may not be right at the time. Hormones are normal to all of us
