Hello all. I just had a bad sore throat but now it is my Tonsillitis – severely inflamed. I’ve tried several treatment that I know of, I drank whole bunch of pure lemon juice, but nothing worked out. My throat is extremely sore and hurting a lot. Where should I go to have this checked out?? Is there some treatment I should take?? Thanks for all replies.

There are several things you should do to successfully treat your tonsillitis. Firstly, gargle every two or three hours with mint mouthwash. Then, take some aspirin and suck on throat lozenges, especially those containing phenol. Be sure to stay hydrated – drink a lot of iced beverages. Also, be sure to avoid cigarette smoke and other irritants – if you smoke, try to stop, at least until you get well. Now, all I’ve mentioned are only treatments to ease symptoms. If you want to medically treat it, you should see your doctor that should take a throat culture to identify the germs in your throat and then prescribe the most appropriate antibiotics treatment for it. In most cases, Penicillin G should do just fine.
