Usch,….i was also told I should get my Tonsils out…..but I don’t want to…..my ENT said they were ruined (or something) but I haven’t had any infections in years, so I don’t know why I should take them out.

I am so afraid of pain and I was reading that it’s not the pain that is so severe but our perception of it. Children don’t know much about the pain, and are not talking about it all the time but adults are like over-reacting. I am still worried though.

Why do you need to take your Tonsils out?
When they compared the results of the tonsillectomies done in children and adults in this article I was reading, they came to a conclusion that the adults quality of life has improved after having their Tonsils out while the children suffered from much more infections. After having their Tonsils removed, the adults made less visits to doctors and took much less antibiotics that before the surgery.

You get painkillers after the surgery and you get to eat a lot of ice-cream without feeling guilty about the calories and after some time you have recovered. I hope.

Anyway, I wish you good luck!
