I believe you meant testicular tortion, so I’ll give you more information about what it really is. It could be described as a condition in which the testicles rotate round in the scrotumthus compromising the blood supply. Symptoms include severe testicular pain, swelling and redness of the scrotum. If it stays untreated, it could cause testicular necrosis which is a death of the testicle.
If it is diagnosed on time, the testicles could be surgically de-rotated and sutured within the scrotum to prevent the future torsion! If it is not treated and is too late, the testicle gets dead and must be removed.
This condition is most likely to happen in young boys aged 7-12. It can be confused with the torsion of the appendix of the testis or with the epididymitis.
Whenever the tortion of the testicles is suspected, the exploratory surgery is imperative. If the testicle tortion is discovered within the 6 hours, it still could be saved. But with every other minute the survival decreases rapidly and the testicles will need to be removed.
The tortion of the testicles could occur prenatally. If this happens, the testicle is abnormal and could not be saved. |

Thank you so much. this is what happened to me.... one of my testicles shrinked and it was an atrophy.....
Now what??? if i am left with one testicle.... please gudie??? |

Why are you playing with this stuff? Don’t you realize how dangerous it can be? How long has it been since your testicle shrank? Lets say it was a testicular torsion…..one thing is certain, you can’t save the testicle any more but you are still considered to be an emergency because the dead testicle may cause gangrenous infection that could be fatal?
Haven’t you seen any of the doctors since this started happening? How old are you anyway? This kind of behaviour is very irresponsible I have to say!
If everything goes all right and you only end up with losing this one testicle you will be still be ok. One testicle alone will still be producing sperm and you will still have hairs on your body, and have all the characteristics males have due to testosterone and you will be able to father.
However, you need to be careful because having testicular torsion in one testicle makes you open to have a torsion in another one.
When are you going to see a doctor? |
