Hi, I just started taking Trazadone, as my doctor prescribed for Insomnia. Will I be permanently cured or shall I have to take it as long as I suffer from insomnia?

Unfortunatelly, the effects of this drug only last while you are taking it. When you quit taking it insomnia may return, so it would be more effective to find and treat cause of insomnia. Usually patients don’t develop tolerance. But some have depression after quitting it. Some patients reported dizziness, loss of concentration, impaired memory, and decreased general mental activity. In my case it was very effective but it is not advisable to take any drug effecting central nervous system for longer period of time, so I decided to find another cure. Now, I listen to relaxation CD with waves, which bring me in sleep easily.
