My father has been suffering from Chron's disease for a long time. Because of that condition he had to go to operations for couple of times (dehydration and colon wall perforation). I have heard that this condition might be related to colon cancer and I have to admit that it frightens me. He has been treated with Azulfidine and I would like to know how effective this drug really is?

This drug represents mixture of several chemical substances. After oral intake, it goes through intestines and affects the mucus in colon walls. It prevents the spreading of inflammation in this region and this should stop the complications that happen because of this disease. It should be very helpful and yes, it decreases the risk of colon cancer occurring.
