My dermatologist has prescribed fluorouracil cream .5%
for treatment of my actinic keratosis.
As this is to be applied all over my face I understand that I will experience much discomfort and down-time.
I also have rosacea and sun damage which he will treat afterwards with a photofacial treatment.
I have since researched this and found that there are new treatments available: photodynamic therapy and immunomodulator treatment.
I am wondering if the newer treatments would be better and not as uncomfortable - not worried about the costs - just want what is best.
I am also concerned about scarring with FU 5
Please help.
