I have plaque and guttate and nail psoriasis, along with psoriatic arthritis and as consequence of all that I suffer great pain. Psoriasis first showed up when I was 28 and now I am 32. My doctor has recently put me on Trexall. Is it true that Trexall can be used as pain reliever? Please, if anyone can answer on my questions I will be grateful.
Trexall belong to the group of Medications that slow the progression of rheumatoid arthritis also called disease modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs). Its mechanism of action in psoriasis is not known. Treatment with methotrexate is highly individualized and depends of progression and present symptoms of disease. Concurrently you should not take aspirin or other non-steroidal painkillers such as Advil or Naprosyn.
