Triglycerides and cholesterol

After my mom died, there was no one left to take care of my dad but me. He is an old man, and he has some health problems. According to his doctor, he has increased level of Triglycerides and cholesterol and he is in risk of coronary heart disease. I don't know anything about this and every help would be welcome.

I read in some article that Triglycerides and cholesterol are sorts of lipids in our organism. Both of them have positive and negative effects on our health. Coronary heart disease is attributable to abnormalities in the levels and metabolism of triglycerides and cholesterol. That mean that if your levels of this lipids are high and you have genetic background for heart disease, you will probably be cardiologist patient.
