Trouble with Mirena

I have had the Mirena IUD for about 3 years without having a period. The past two to three months I have had a period and something told me to check my IUD. I checked myself to feel if I could still feel the strings to see if it was still in place and I can not feel the strings anymore. My boyfriend and I have had unprotected sex mutiple times since and I was wondering the chances of getting pregnant if the IUD has come out of place.

Only 20% of women will actually completely lose their periods.

It is actually more common for most women to have some spotting or bleeding occasionally, so that is not usual.

Strings can disappear, that is not unusual, but you should see a doc just to ensure that they are simply high in the cervix instead of hanging down.
