Trying to get pregnant!!!!! I have irregular periods

I have irregular periods( a period every 3-4 months) and I have been trying for over a year to have a child. What can I do to become pregnant? I'm thinking that I can't have any children because of my irregular periods.

Do not worry God is Good! I have irregular period too. Once I did not get my period for as long as 8 months. I never went to the doctor for my condition. I got married December 2005 and I found out in this December 2006 that I was pregnant! One year an a day after getting married! I believed that I was not going to have any kids and look what God has done. I am 18 weeks pregnant! waiting for a beautiful boy! My first child. Very Happy

I too have irregular periods, from 2005-2006 I had 2 periods which were 18 months apart. I am currently 14 weeks 6 days pregnant with my #3 baby and so far everything looks healthy. I even had surgery during my pregnancy to remove a large ovarian tumor and things were good. I had given up ever having another baby over the summer, it was hard but I accepted it, then I was surprised with the news that I am pregnant in December.

There are so many reasons for these that if you want to truly try to get pregnant and they haven't been looked into I'd say have your doctor check things out. Also it might help to use the ovulation kits. some women swear by them.

First check for any hormonal imbalances (thyroid being a large one), check for ovarian cysts as well. These are some of the biggest culprits. Also evaluate your weight and make sure you are not too thin or too heavy (too much or too little weight can cause periods to be irregular).
