Two weeks have passed following my ACDF C5-6 surgery. I am home, and I still feel pain when I climb stairs, or walk longer. Is this normal?

Hi. I had ACDF and my doctor told me simply to listen to my body. Discomfort is normal to feel while returning to your normal life activities. The pain, however, is a sign that you should stop doing whatever you are doing and proceed slowly with that. I was told daily walking is the best exercise for my recovery. I increase the distance every day, but I have to set a pace that avoids pain. I climb stairs only when I feel able to. Healing process may be improved by proper nutrition and physical fitness.
