Unborn baby found to have unilateral hydronephrosis?

Hello! I am 22 weeks pregnant and ultrasound discovered that my baby has unilateral hydronephrosis. Is this some mental breakdown? I am very concerned about this. My gynecologist told me that everything will be probably all right, but if something go wrong that they will utero fetal surgery. What exactly utero fetal surgery is?

Hello! Please, calm down. Unilateral hydronephrosis is not mental breakdown. This means that your baby has problem with her kidneys. This only means that your baby has a problem with decreasing amniotic fluid caused of lack of fetal urine production. Utero fetal surgery actually means that your baby will have surgery while it is in your womb. I can tell you that utero fetal surgeries are very rare and that you should not be worried about that.
