I am a 23 year old female, and I never had any health problems before this. However for about the past month I have had a pain next to my belly button on the left side. I can feel a little lump and it is very painful to touch that is just diagonally above my naval. The pain goes down and around to the bottom of my belly button and it also goes to my lower left ribs. I also have been felling dizzy and lightheaded for just over a week now. The pain isn't constant, it comes and goes and if I accidently put pressure on that area it will hurt for a few minutes. I have also missed my period twice now. (I know for sure I am not pregnant). I have no idea what this is. Does anyone know what might be causing this pain? I do have a mis-shapened left rib cage, and even though I never had this happen before, could this be a reason why I have pain? My floating ribs poke out.
If you had left out the fact that you have missed 2 periods, I would ask if there was any change in bowel habits. (possible constipation or bowel obstruction) Now, you say that you know that you are not pregnant. Was there a test done or have you obstained from intercourse? The reason I ask is the area you decribe is near an ovary and fallopian tube. Sometimes an egg can become fertilized inside the tube before it can make its decent to the uterus. With a problem like this, I would recommend a visit to a physician to rule out any serious problems.
