Hi, I had a hysterectomy last month, and since then I’ve been having problems with urinating. I don’t know is this permanent? Will I have urine leakage forever?

Hello, I also had urine leakage after hysterectomy. A doctor explained me that urine incontinence is common after changing the design and support of the pelvis. Vagina and urinary tract are made of the similar tissue, and they both have estrogen dependence. Hysterectomy misbalance estrogen and everything is changed. Estrogen improves smooth muscle tone, which can fewer urinary tract infections. I remember how embarrassing urine leakage can be, especially when sneezing. There is a new method of hysterectomy called a laparoscopic hysterectomy, which involves far less damage. Urinary leakage is much more possible in women over 40, and not only leakage, but any other urine incontinence. This doesn’t have to be permanent. In my case, ERT was really helpful.

| I am almost six out from having a vaginal hysterectomy. I have noticed having urine leakage. I can even be laying in bed at night and feel it leaking out. Will I always have to wear a pad? Has anyone else felt this? |

I thought I might be the only one feeling this... I have loads of leakage. lately more than before. 1 month post Op I was back in the ER for a hole that had eaten it's way through my stomach. While I was in the hospital they ran dozens of tests and ran tons of antibiotic into me. THAT ACTUALLY helped stop the leaking... for a while. Now I have no insurance and the endometriosis (which is why I got the surgery) is back in full force because my WONDERFUL doctor thought it would be best to save THE WRONG ovary. The leaking is absolutely ridiculous. I am looking for answers too, if anybody has any!
Thanks!!! |
