I've read that if one is addicted to one opiate/opiod, one is addicted to all. But, since methadone is synthetic (and is stored in the fat: that plus the long half life make the withdrawal so insidious) could one treat methadone withdrawal using a non-synth opiate (vicodin, codeine, etc.)? I've been off methadone for almost three weeks, and I swear the symptoms are getting worse instead of better. I found a bottle of vicodin and have not taken any because I don't want the withdrawals to start all over again at day one, like they used to if I relapsed on any opiate when trying to kick herion.
I know, I know, I should probably toss the vicodin, but if the pills can help make this hell more bearable without jeopordizing all I've already gone through, then I will happily take them. If I find the opposite is true, then I shall flush them.
Thanks in advance for your comments! |
