Hello, I have been on the pill for 12 months now... I started on Brenda and the past 6 months have suffered from constant heavy vaginal discharge. I had a swab approx 4 months ago and it showed a heavy growth of thrush. I used the 6 day cream and this helped for approx a week then the discharge returned. I have used the thrush treatment cream 3 times since and it will help for about a week and then it returns. I have also used the diflucan tablet once and this also helped for a week and then the discharge returned. My gp suggested that I change to a different pill in which I have been on for 2 weeks now. Its is called Loette. My gp also said there is nothing else that I can do so I'd have to put up with it. Is that right? The discharge is thin and watery but is white. It also does get clumpy. It doesn't seem to have any bad odour. I am just sick of constantly feeling wet, and having wet undies. It is so uncomfortable day in day out as I can feel it come out everytime.
I also the last month have been diagnosed with HPV and have genital warts but have been treated. I am going to a gyno tomorrow to have a colposcopy as my pap smear results returned abnormal.
Is my discharge definately thrush and cause by the pill? Seeing it is reoccouring is there other treatments that I can use?
And could my discharge have anything to do with the HPV, and dysplasia?
I'll definately ask the gyno tomorrow as I am fed up with this... surely its something that I dont have to just live with!
Oh and I must add in also that I am a healthy active person and am currently in a sexually relationship. The only form of contraception we use is the pill. He has been to his gp and all tests came back clear. I have had blood tests for HIV, Hep B and Hep C and also a urine test for Clamydia. All were negative. My partner does not have any signs of HPV and has been my only sexually partner.
