Posted: 06/01/07 - 11:16 Post subject: Vaginal Mucus + Mucus in Stool? |
|
|
I am -so- not sure if I'm in the right section or not, but, oh well.
So for a long time, I've had more discharge than what's considered the norm, since I was 11 or so. (I'm 17 now). Recently, about a year ago, it's gotten so bad that I've had to wear a pad so that I don't wet my panties so much I have to change. The discharge has become mucus-like, sticky and stretchy and whatnot.
Also, since about a week ago, I've noticed mucus in my stool. Every time I take a crap (that's the medical term? xD) there's mucus in my stool. And I don't crap that often, because I've kind of lost the urge.
I've never had sex, if that's relevant.
So I don't know what to do now, and I just stumbled upon this website... so yeah... What should I do? What's wrong with me? |

| Look up Candida - that's what it sounds like to me. It's an overgrowth of yeast and it is white. I have it too... |

I also have very heavy vaginal discharge. Just as you said it started when I hit puberty and has continued since. I am now 19. Fortunately for us, it's completely normal.
Vaginal discharge changes a lot in your monthly cycle. Discharge is heaviest during ovulation which usually occurs the week before your period. The elasticity of vaginal discharge is also dependent upon your monthly cycle. As you get closer to your ovulation mucus gets more elastic like a rubber band. Where as when you are a few weeks from your period, mucus will not stretch nearly as far. Mucus during ovulation is usually clear, where as the less stretchy mucus found when you are not ovulating is more white or cloudy.
I hope this helps ease your mind. You can learn a lot more about this by looking up information on fertility. Also, I tip for you. I started taking birth control to help my skin and to regulate my cycle better. I found this also decreased the amount of discharge I get on a day to day basis. Even if you aren't having sex the pill can be a savior. However, be wary of taking it if you are prone to migraines as it has been known to increase the frequency and or severity of said. |

| Seems to me there is nothing wrong with you; instead, you are very much a normal healthy young woman. Replacing your pantyliners often will help make you feel comfortable during more active days. And consider yourself lucky; I'm sure menopausal women would give anything to have even one-third of the lubrication they had when they were 17. If the discharge ever smells fishy or causes irritation/itchiness: see a gynocologist. |
