Vaginal odor after pregnancy and sexual changes

I gave birth eight months ago, and got a Paraguard IUD inserted six months ago. In the last two or three months, I have experienced off and on bad vaginal odor. I have never experienced this before. I can't say for sure if my discharge is that different. Sometimes it seems like I have clear discharge and sometimes white, but it is not often. I am still breastfeeding my child and although I have had spotting my period has not returned. Lastly, I dont know if this will help, but it seems like sex is more uncomfortable even painful in some positions.
