Valve between bowel and abdomen

Hi Everyone

I would like some information about what I believe is called the Volvanic Valve , which apparently is the valve that joins the Bowel and the Abdomen.

I would like to know what happens and the possible consequences if this becomes twisted and if this happening is quite common.
