| Well, went to the emergency room yesterday because I didn't want to wait an additional 2 days to see my GP. He checked my right teste and told me he thought it was epididymitis and wanted to do a urine test for what I believe was gonorrhea (came back negative). He thought it might be an e-coli infection. I got a very painful injection in the "hip" (as the nurse called it) and a prescription for some antibiotics. It seems to be getting slightly better... |

Way to go, Joeblow79! Since the antibiotics seem to be helping, it sounds like your problem is likely bacteria-related. Keep taking the antibiotics as prescribed, and, if the symptoms start to come back after you're done with them, go back and make them give you some more (more of the same, possibly at a higher dose, or of a more powerful type). It can take a lot longer than the 10-15 days they initially give you, especially if you have been infected for a long time, since the bacteria can be nestled way down inside your prostate and epidydimis, where it's hard to reach by the antibiotics. It would be good to massage your epidydimis (which you can do yourself) and your prostate (which your GP would need to do for you, or maybe you have a very understanding and/or adventurous girlfriend), to make sure the antibiotic is getting to all of the bacteria. A prostate massage is done like a normal prostate exam, with the addition of pressing on the prostate, from the outside in, to push the "juice" in it into and up your urethra, where you can pass it, and giving the antibiotics some room to work. I did this twice per week for 4 weeks with my GP, while taking the antibiotic Floxin, and it worked. After it was over, my GP said that he thought I was a nice guy, and he was glad that my pain was gone, but that he really didn't want to know me that well. |

Have any of you looked into the possibillity of 'Blue Balls'
‘Blue balls’ of love
Sexual arousal that does not terminate in ejaculation can cause congestion in the sperm carrying tubes, resulting in a dull aching sensation in the testicle. This is sometimes referred to as ‘blue balls’, which is inconvenient but entirely harmless. The pain disappears within a few hours anyway, although some men relieve the discomfort through masturbation.
I have had the same problem and went searching away on the internet. I'd always heard of this but never knew exactly what it entailed, and now that I do, it seems likely considering it generally only occurs after an intense erection not followed by ejaculation. That may just be me though. |

Chaps,
This problem can occur if when either masterbating or having sex you stop the flow of sperm.
Say for instance you are at the point of ejaculation, and you then press on the tip of your penis to stop the flow of sperm. This will cause a back log of sperm resulting in acute infections especially in the testicular tubes. |

I too have been experiencing the following symptoms:
-Dull pain in the left testis
-Swollen Vas deferens
-Discomfort in the thighs and lower legs/burning sensation
-Abdominal and lower back pain
-Lack of energy/weakness
-At times purple coloration of the testes
-Constant feeling of urination/constipation
I have been dealing with this problem for about 9 months. I saw a doctor about 3 months ago and he gave me some blood tests and urine tests. All of my blood tests and urine tests came back negative for anything. My doctor then gave me some medication for epididimytis. This did not help.
I have not been back to a doctor and after reading this thread I'm not sure if that will even help. I am going to try a few of the methods recommended in this thread and see if that helps. If not then I will go back to the doctor.
I'll post back if I come up with anything. The fact that this thread was started over a year ago and nobody has posted a solid diagnosis or treatment for this problem is very disconcerting.
Good luck all. |

I have the same symptoms as most of these posts.
The doctor has diagnosed a hernia and is 100% confident that all my other symptoms are as a result - pain in leg, stomach, swollen vas deferens and other discomfort.
He has said to rest and be careful with lifting and heavy exercise. Also advisable is a high fibre diet and water to avoid constipation (and the need to 'push').
At the moment he doesn't think surgery is needed but it may later.
Hopefully this will help.
If you have avoided seeing the doctor -for understandable reasons and fears - just go and get a proper diagnosis. |

I can't believe all the guys who have been experiencing the same thing and for so long! I myself can relate to mostly the symptoms described here by bcart except for the lack of energy and discoloration. About 8 years ago I asked my doctor's Nurse Practioner to take a look at my scrotum, because I had felt a soft lumpiness in the vas deferens of my left teste. He said he didn't know what it was, but yeah, it did feel "ropy". It just seems to make the left more sensitive, especially when a lady takes it in her mouth, doesn't bother all the time, but it can by quite achy. Usually if i touch or gently squeeze it, it doesn't bother me, but today, I did and it felt like I'd been kicked in the balls and like I was going to vomit. I have had chlamydia and what i suspected was epididymitis and I wouldn't say this is it. It's a dull ache that seems to radiate, like many have described, legs, groin, lower back and abdomen. I suspect a hernia, myself. |
