Hello All,
OK, this is kind of embarassing for me, but I need and answer. I have been having a lot of vaginal pain, redness, burning and ITCHINESS. This has been going on off and on for about three or four years. I have physicals and the doctors never find anything. There is also some yellowish discharge and lots of very painful burning after I pee. This happens a lot especially after sex with my husband. More so if some of his fluids get on me. I use vagisil and it soothes the itch and burning for a little while but then my whole vagina starts to sting and almost nothing can soothe it. What could this be? I'm sick of it!!! |

Did your symptoms first appear around the same time you became sexually involved with your husband?
I'm not a doctor but this sounds like you could be possibly allergic to your husband's fluids? or if you use a sex toy, certain lubrications, laxtex condoms ,et al.
What is new/introduced in the past 4 years that you regularly use since your symptoms first appeared? |

| Hi - I am so sorry about your pain. It could be that you are allergic to your husbands fluids. Have you been tested for Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)? I had it for many weeks, maybe a month before the doctor diagnosed me correctly with this, before that I was misdiagnosed and was given yeast infection creams over and over again, which only made things worse. Or you could have Vulvodynia. Which is pain in the extrnal vaginal area but tests do not show any infection. I am not a doctor but you could try warm sitz baths, (Domeboro - a white medicinal powder used for skin conditions) and Aveeno Oatmeal bath soak. I did that twice a day and it helped to relieve burning. And try patting your area after urinating with a wet paper towel with cold water, don't wipe, just pat. After months of doing this, I started to eventually feel better. I no longer have vaginal pain. |

| I understand what you are going through I had the same symptons a while back. The doctor thought it was a simple yeast infection and prescribed for that. It only got worse and there was a horrible fishy smell with it. I was finally treated for Bacterial Vaginosis and it cleared up within a day. I think this problem occured with me because my partner was not circumsized and bacteria left behind in the foreskin can sometimes cause infections in the vagina. Both partners should clean their private parts thouroughly before and after sex. Just my thought. |
