Very heavy dark discharge constantly between periods

I'm 16 and have always had irregular periods but recently since January they've been weeks late and randomly start my doctor said its normal to have irregular periods at my age but for about two weeks now I'm not even close to starting and have had dark brown almost black discharge that has a very foul smell ...I know it could possible be old blood but its very heavy and when I have my periods they are very very heavy as well and usually clot its almost as if I am ALWYAYS bleeding or discharging and have to use a pad or all my underwear would be ruined. Also this may or may not be related but I've previously had a very violent intestional infection and ever since have had abdominal pains constantly and its hard to eat at times all this is hitting me at once and I'm starting to get fed up and upset if anyone can help please reply to this!
