| Hello, I am a 20 year old female, and I am worried that I might have some major health problems. About a year and a half ago I went to a gynocologist because I had been on my period for 3 months without any breaks. With very heavy bleeding, sometimes bleeding through a pad or tampon in an hour.... She didn't find anything wrong with my pap smear or blood tests, and she ordered me to go on the patch birth control. I was on the patch for about 6 months and it seemed to clear everything up, but about a year ago my insurance ran out because I turned 19 and birth control wasn't covered anymore, even though it was for medical reasons. So I stopped taking birth control and for the last 8 months everything seemed ok. For the last 3 months now my periods have become very irregular. Sometimes I will bleed for an hour, and then stop for a week... sometimes I will bleed nonstop for 2 weeks. I also have clotting and very extremely heavy bleeding when I do bleed. I am worried about something like ovarian cancer or something else severely wrong, but the two times I went to the gyno they never found anything like that wrong. I'm hopping someone can help me, because the bleeding an clotting just keeps getting worse and worse. |
