I've had a pimple on the outer lip of my vagina for over several weeks. It seemed to go away, but has come back and is more painful than ever. Not sure what could have caused it, but it's too painful to try and remove. Other than shaving down there, I haven't had too much activity in the area. I'm worried that it could be an STD, but I'm married and we're monogamous. Could this be due to an ingrown hair? Or something else as simple? Thanks for any advice you can give.
If the pimple is that big and painful, you should certainly have it checked by a dermatologist. They have the best solutions for anything, at least my dermatologist does.
These could be both a pimple and an ingrown hair and both of these could hurt.
I get ingrown hairs all the time. They are real nuisance. It is said that they should be left alone ( as well as pimples) and not pick them, so that they won’t get inflamed.
Some people say it is good to put warm compresses on the “bumps” to get the white stuff out (if there is any) but you may get an antibiotic or something from a doc to get it cleared.
STD don’t usually cause pimples unless it is HPV. If it’s HPV, then you would probably get more and they would look sort of crusty and ugly. Not like regular pimples.

maybe it's a sebacious cyst or boil. These can look like pimples and be quite painful. Once it pops the pressure and pain should subside. Try the warm compresses, it will at least soothe the pain.
