Very progressive leg pain with severe disability,swelling, numbness etc.

six months ago started to have knee pain. Progressed into inability to bend them completly which has now progressed into almost COMPLETE inability to bend them. My legs started hurting shortly after the knee pain onset and have progressivly gotten worse to this day. I have severe pain and weakness all day long. It continues through my butt down my thigh whether I am sitting, standing or laying down. The pain consists of each leg having a 2 inch WIDE sciatica type feeling going from each butt side down each leg. There is also severe pressure inside both legs, top to bottom, that I actually start feeling like I am going to explode, till I sit down.The back of my right thigh has become swollen, along with both knees, my left ankle,and also the ball of my left foot,with my left toes numb for the past 6 weeks. The scariest part is now whenever I get up from a seated position,especially the car, I HAVE SUCH EXCRUCIATING PAIN WITH THE COMPLETE INABILITY TO STRAITEN MY BODY FROM THE WAIST UP. I have to lean on the seat of the car for several minutes till I can actually stand uprigt. Also when I wake up in the morning, I can no longer stand on my own. The pain is bad enough in my body to even get out of bed,but when I finally do, I can no longer stand on my own. Again the excruciating pain disables me from standing or walking.At times my legs have completly given out and I have fallen over. Had EMG'S & MRI done.Narrowing of the spinal canal with nerve root involment, also diffuse arthritis but arthritis does not account for all the symptoms.{no pinched nerves,etc.}Since both leg EMG's came back normal the Dr.s said it was "definitly steming from the spine" there is definitly nerve involment. They want to admit me to the hospital and run more tests since the situation could be dangerous.I am now in a completely weakend and disabled state. {now parts of the legs hurt to the touch and those parts are discolored:bluish,browish etc.}Since this was not an injury,so far we are at a loss as to what neurological disease it might be. We have our suspicions.PLEASE....ANYBODY..HELP ME...THIS HAS TAKEN OVER MY LIFE COMPLETLY AND AT 48 YEARS OLD WITH SMALL CHILDREN LIFE HAS BECOME IMPOSSIBLE. THANKS P.S. There are many other medical problems I did not list,{including very severe falling asleep anytime}but if any other information would be helpful just write me back and ask.
