Virgin with vaginal swelling. What is the problem?

I am in my mid 20's I have never had intercourse. My vaginal lips itch and swell up and become really red. Ever since I was younger I wash myself everytime I use the bathroom, so I don't see what the problem could be?

My only thought is that maybe it's a yeast infection; swelling, itchy and red.
Do you have white discharge? It would look white with cottage cheese-like texture.

I'd go ask a doctor, just to be sure.
(You don't have to be sexually active to develop a yeast infection.)
If it's not an infection, then the soap is irritating the tender skin.
