My dad suffers from arthritis. I’ve heard that water aerobics can benefit those with arthritis. I would like to know more about this. Thank you in advance. What he needs to know if he decides to try with water aerobics?

Water exercise programs for arthritis have been making a splash around the country. Here are some things to keep in mind. First warm water relaxes the muscles and eases joint stiffness. For an arthritis-oriented class, a water temperature of 84ºF to 88ºF is recommended, also, exercising in the water is so much easier, he may be tempted to overdo. Look for a qualified instructor who is knowledgeable about arthritis and one of the best things about Water Aerobics is he can socialize as he exercises.
