Hi everybody. I’m 40 and had a hysterectomy 7 months ago. Ever since, I’ve had a very little interest in sex. At first, I did not pay to much attention to it and I thought that it will not be something permanent and that it will disappear in weeks following the surgery. But, when 7 months later I still had the same problems, I knew that there was something more into it. It is so bad that even if I do have sex I can't get an orgasm. Is it unusual to have the lack of interest in sex after the hysterectomy? I’ve tried lubricants as well as many other meds but with no effect at all. I’m very frustrating trying to please my husband when I even can’t enjoy sex. Is there anything I can do to improve my sex life?

Hi there. I am 37 and had a partial hysterectomy some 5 months ago. For me, the only problem is that it takes much longer to reach an orgasm. But, as I did not have my ovaries removed, I guess that is why, unlike you, I still have interest in sex. Anyway, I think that in the cases like yours, hormones are needed. I think that should bring things back to normal. So, I suggest you ask your doc about it... I hope that will help. Good luck!
