My wife has a family history of deep vein thrombosis (a type of blood clot). She has no problems yet, but she was advice by her doctor to take enoxaparin as prevention. Doctor gave her smaller doses. We heard that no matter how large dose is she must be careful as long as she takes enoxaparin. What I should know about enoxaparin? I am doing this for her and for us. We are planning to have baby and this is of big importance.

I use enoxaparin, too. Yes, your wife needs to be careful with that medicine. She must not take any other medication with enoxaparin unless her doctor told her so. Beside, if she wants to get pregnant she is not supposed to use it at all. She must talk to her doctor about it. It is important because these medications may lead to bleeding. Also, if she would need any procedure, even teeth extraction, she must tell about using enoxaparin. I hope that you will find this helpful.
