|
|
Hello. I'm 29 year old female. Recently, during some routine gynecological examination, some malignant tumor was found on my uterus. Doctor told me that I was very lucky because tumor is found in his early stadium and that’s why he didn’t spread on other organs.
Still, my uterus and my ovaries should be removed as quickly as possible in one procedure called Total Hysterectomy.
So, I was wondering, beside the threat of infection and possible pain I will experience after, will I be able to enjoy in sex like I did before the operation. What is sex like after a total hysterectomy?

I think that, when woman loses hers genitals organs, it’s a big waste and big handicap in future because she will not be able to have children any more.
So, I really want to help you. I have talked about this with the friend of mine who is doctor and he told me that, in most women, sex drive is still the same if not only stronger.
Of course, there is a big possibility that removal of the uterus and ovaries could cause large declines in sex hormones but somehow this does not cause sex drive decreasing. I'm not talking here about physical sensation. Removal of the cervix may result in a change in the physical sensation during intercourse but use of some lubricants and often improves this.

Regarding sex... the drive is probably still the same, let that be your emotional basis.. but caution.. the uterus is a very large muscle that contracts to deliver a baby and to have an orgasm.. that contraction will be missing.
CAUTION be sure you have tried alternative therapies first, there are always side effects to surgery and sometimes severe... My advise is to try any conventional alternative first and also alternative medicine solutions consult with nathropaths, energy healers, homeopathic methods if you possibly can first. I had my hysterectomy 4 years ago, I looked at orthodoc alternative and none were appropriate for my large fibroids, however since then I have learned the some forms of energy healing and herbals really may have allowed me to keep my uterus... What ever you decide if you can keep as much of your self as possible especially all or part of your ovaries to help your body balance the many hormones a woman needs (not just estrogen). I have suffered from hormone inbalance more than the suffering I had from my fibroids. Do your research first. Best wishes to you. |

| As a woman who has had a total hysterectomy I can assure you that there has been an improvement in not only my sex drive but the intensity of my orgasms. However it took many trips to my doctor to get the correct dosage and form of hormone replacement. I don't need any vaginal lubricants either. Talk with your doctor about the different types of hormone replacement. Personally I am using what is called a Femring and a topical cream which has testosterone and DHEA in it. It works for me. I had to do this as I had an allergic reaction to Vaginal and topical creams that had Estrogen in them. Good luck in find what works for you. |

I had my uterus removed 12 years ago because of a cancerous tumor. I am almost 61 years old. Sex is the best. I have big wet orgasisms. My hubby is getting tired pleasing me...never give up. |

I would consider other options before surgery because you are going to sign a consent form that allows doctors to severe vital nerves which intern can make you end up with inability to orgasm after the surgery. I have been researching the affects of post surgical hysterectomies and I AM NEVER going to get one!! See what other alternatives you can find for your own well being or visit hers.org |
